Join us at the KANPAI Taproom for a special guided tasting celebrating Niigata, one of Japan’s leading rice-producing regions and is renowned for its sake-brewing tradition.
For this event, NICO (Niigata Industrial Creation Organization) brings together four producers from across Niigata, showcasing a diverse selection of sake and whisky.
Enjoy tasting the distinctive flavours shaped by Niigata’s rice, pure water, snowy climate, and generations of craftsmanship.
Taste over 12 different sakes, liqueurs and whiskies, including exciting products never before seen in the UK. Meet representatives from the breweries and distillery, hear their stories and learn more about this remarkable region and its drinks.

Guided samples of over 12 sakes, liqueurs and whiskies
The chance to meet and talk with the producers
An introduction to Niigata and its renowned drinks culture
A few light snacks will be available alongside the tasting, but please note that this is not a food event or full meal.

Tamagawa Sake Brewery
Over 350 Years of Sake Brewing:
Founded in 1673, during the Edo period, Tamagawa Sake Brewery has been making sake in Uonuma, Niigata for more than 350 years. Its brewing tradition has been carried forward through 19 generations.
Niigata Kameda Distillery
Craft Whisky, Made in Niigata:
Niigata Kameda Distillery is a small-scale distillery dedicated to producing single malt whisky that reflects the natural character of Niigata. Drawing on the region’s climate and resources, we carefully craft whisky with a distinctive local identity.
Kirinzan Brewery
Our Commitment to "Tanrei Karakuchi" (Crisp & Dry Style):
Since our founding, we have pursued the ultimate "everyday dry sake"—a crisp, refreshing brew that never tires the palate and seamlessly complements daily meals and people's lifestyles.
Yoshinogawa Brewery
Brewing Sake Since 1548:
Founded in 1548 in Nagaoka, Niigata, Yoshinogawa is the oldest sake brewery in the prefecture, with a history spanning over 470 years. Today, we continue this long-standing tradition while remaining deeply rooted in Niigata’s renowned sake-brewing culture.
