KANPAI guides you through each of the sakes, with JIJI serving a curated selection of their signature dishes for you to choose from.

Welcome to the #SakeRevolution. KANPAI is the UK’s first sake brewery, creating modern British sake using traditional Japanese techniques. KANPAI means ‘cheers’ in Japanese, and was founded in 2016 by husband and wife team Tom and Lucy Wilson. Their award-winning sake is purely fermented from rice and made lovingly by hand from start to finish at their brewery in Peckham, London; they even hand-fill and label every bottle themselves to ensure the highest quality.

JIJI is a brand new dining concept in the heart of Islington, providing a vibrant experience in a homely venue with an open robata grill. The menu combines Japanese elegance with Middle Eastern creativity for a mouthwatering selection of starters, salads, sushi, meats, bento boxes and desserts, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. The restaurant itself is reminiscent of a home kitchen, adorned with eclectic artwork and photo-worthy moments found at every corner. The restaurant has been created by Janina Wolkow, restaurateur and founder of multi-award-winning contemporary Japanese restaurant Sumosan, which boasts outposts all over the world.

KANPAI believe that above all, good sake deserves to be enjoyed amongst old friends and new, which is why they’re partnering with JIJI this London Craft Week to bring you an evening to remember.
